Use of Genre Conventions

The genre of my short film is black comedy. I wanted to create a storyline which was both funny but also dark. The death scene of 2 is both funny and dark as the shovel appearing over his shoulder comes across as comedic but the sound of 2 being hit with the shovel combined with the music makes it dark too. The opening also comes across as comedic as the two characters are walking into the woods not doing anything useful, but the classical music featured conveys a sense of gracefulness and elegance to their actions. The opening still has a dark nature though, as their objective is to bury a body in the woods. These scenes will impact the audience in different ways as they are both funny and dark.
